Why do we need Engineering?

Engineering is an integral part of any project development. Engineering is one of the catalysts needed to convert a concept idea in one's head to the finished article on the ground.

Civil and Environmental Engineers deal with the design and construction of:

  • Transportation Facilities (roads, bridges, carparks, kerb & channelling, footpaths, driveways)
  • Public Health Facilities (hydrology, water supply, sewerage, drainage, waste disposal, recycling)
  • Earthworks (Dams, levee banks, retaining walls, trenching, open drains and channels)
  • Environmental Management (water resources, pollution control)
  • Environmental Impact Assessment and environmental auditing to minimise the effects of constructed facilities on the natural environment
