Professional Experience
August 1980 - Present:
- Director and Manager of Price Merrett Consulting Pty. Ltd. (formerly Price Merrett and Associates P/L).
- Irrigation projects in North Western Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia and Gippsland. Design and supervision of construction of large, on farm storage's (up to 400 ML capacity). Survey and design work for tile drainage projects.
- Whole Farm Plans - involved in the survey and design of over 100,000 Ha of farmland. Plans incorporate irrigation layout and the design of channels and drains.
- Various cadastral survey projects in Victoria and New South Wales. Irrigation designs for Maffra Sewerage Authority, Bendigo Water Board and Murray Goulburn Waste Disposal. Topographic and engineering surveys.
- Major Levee Surveys (Murray Darling Basin Commission and North Central Catchment Management Authority), pipeline surveys (Mallee pipelines).
- Soil Surveys for primary industry developments.
- GPS surveys - Topographic, G.I.S., high accuracy control surveys.
- Real time kinematic and static baseline surveys.
1975 - August 1980:
- Surveyor for Victorian State Rivers and Water Supply Commission, based during this time at Rochester, Bendigo, Mildura, Melbourne and Kerang. Worked on rectified photo-backed plan production at all centres.
- At Melbourne involved in the planning and execution of small format aerial photography. In charge of survey control for mapping proposed Mitchell River Dam site. In charge of survey control for mapping Kerang area.
- Major dam wall deformation surveys on storage's in Coliban system. Silting surveys on major storage's using laser control and echo sounding. Pipeline surveys carried out at Bendigo and Mildura including route selection and construction surveys. Murray River levee and cross-section survey, Torrumbarry to Nyah.
- Irrigation land layout work includes surveys and designs for landforming, whole farm planning (stock and crop management as it affects layout and water use) and design of channels, drains and associated pumping systems. Involved in research aspects of land layout using laser guided earthmoving equipment.
